I still have 18" of snow and can't wait anymore!!

Going to NJ Motorsports ParkLightning course on March 30. As usual I will be the slowest / lowest horsepower car there. Cool
Gotta pick up an SA2005 as well. Not cheap!! I guess it is just time to update any way, I was hoping to wait till the 2010 was out and skip an update for a change.

WOW>

NJMP Lightning course is just plain fast, over 100mph in three spots around the track, 1:23 best time (a guess as the posted times of 1:27 and 1:29 were in my way all day). Can't wait for Mont Tremblant this year, car is hyped and jumpy and wants to play!!

Hemis on full song, makes the blood gurgle!!

There were a few really ugly G8s there. They were fairly fast on track considering the weight, I was able to turn virtually the same times, I expected more out of them.

A few pics my buddy took.

Setting up an M3 for a pass on the front straight. Just after the apex of the light bulb.


Getting bye an older 911.


Getting a bit pushy on the hot tires!


WOT into turn 1 at about 75. Front end washes a bit right after this spot, best to just let it and collect it after the hill lets you back to full weight.


I think this is just clearing turn 1

Don't know anything about how to drive your car but you mentioned overheating the front tires. Not letting the fronts wash out would help the overheating problem. Lifting just a little and giving the fronts a breather would probably result in the same exact speed through there as staying on the throttle but with less heat generated.

But believe me, I understand about staying in the throttle. It feels soooo good.

I will definatly try to stay out of it a bit next time, the turn in into 1 there is up hill and crests as you enter. When I slid the car I had roasted all 4 already, LXs are nicely balanced to start with so if you behave even a little bit it stays nice and smooth. Looking forward to Lime Rock and Mont Tremblant this year. The car needed a bit of money last year and had me sidelined Evil or Very Mad . Looking forward to using some tires and gas this year. BTW started with a full tank and was on the low light after 2 thirty minute runs, about 3.5mpg on track, I gotta remember that!

LOL, yeah 340 HP 400 ft lb normaly aspirated, 4500 pound car that does 60 in 6 seconds and 100 in 13.9, tops at 170 (I have the GPS pic to prove it). She is using some fuel when you ask it to go. Then take it down the highway at 70 on cruise, it shuts the valves and stops the fuel on 4 cylinders, and gets 27 mpg (when you LEAVE IT ALONE). Class 3 trailer hitch that gives it a 3800 pound tow capacity. Seats five "normal" folks (four of my family) and has auto ride height, makes for a nice all round car.

I was seriously looking at one for a daily driver/tow vehicle. But that 3800 lb limit was about four or five hundred too low. Too bad. I didn't realize I coulda had a track car too.

When you see where it attaches and some of the historical uses you wouldn't hesitate using it to 5000. A load leveling hitch would be a good idea over 1500.

Lawyers, the trannys are good to 580 KW, WAY above what you will get from a well set up 5.7 liter. If you are shopping, make sure it has the tow package or walk away. Tow package includes extreme duty cooling (bigger rad and extra tranny cooler in front of the rad) and Nivomats for the self contained auto leveling. The Nivomats use an accumulator to achive level ride and help ALOT in hard corner body roll control. There is no hitch with the tow package, go figure that one. Also get the Dodge hitch, it is way more stout than the "Hidden Hitch" version.
