I got confirmation today that we will be able to use the McCarty Ave OGS parking lot for the last 2 events of the season. The lot is at the south end of 787. I will meet with a couple people to discuss the possible need to limit the # of entrants. At this time there is no limit based on attendance of our last few events.
edit This lot is in Albany just off of exit 23 of the thruway. See later posts for more details. _________________ Russ

Great news! Unfortunately my season is already done.
I discovered last weekend that I have not one, but two blown shocks (R front and L rear). I'm still undecided about having these rebuilt or buying new ones, but either way it's not gonna be back in action until the spring.
I'd come down and cheer everyone on, but two hours is a little too long a drive for cheerleading. _________________ Dave Guertin

In my opinion, the lot is in much better condition that either of the CC lots. Fairly smooth and no big bad patches of asphalt. However, it is rather small and there are some obstructions scattered around the lot. _________________ EJ Smith - SM 10

Bruce, Burt, Eric and myself went to the lot today to see how it looks on a Sunday, what we could do with the lot for a course and where to set up grid and paddock.
What we will do for our events;
It looks like we will set up a combined paddock and grid near the bus stop. We will not be using the lined spaces. We will have to be up against the curbing around the perimeter. Trailers will be near the fuel pump. Do Not Block the Pumps. They are active and were used while we were there so I expect them to be used during our events. Absolutely no smoking in this area. If you need to smoke, we ask you to please do so in your car. Smoking is not allowed on course or in grid and since we have combined grid and paddock we will allow it as long as you are in your or someone elses car (with their permission). Please use our garbage bags, not the cans in the lot.
Burt will work his magic to make the best of this site. It has a rough section and a few light poles to work around that will limit him some. _________________ Russ

OK, for those of us not from the Albany area, where is this place? I have no clue but assume OGS means Office of General Services, which I have not the slightest idea of where it is. Is it in Albany or what? Some sort of directions would probably be a good idea, unless it is so small we want to limit it to people who can find it on their own?
Oh yeah, I don't know who needs to be contacted to change it but the NeDiv schedule currently shows FM for our last two events. I'd hate to have someone show up there and wonder where everyone went.
Oh yeah, and good job Russ finding a site on such short notice.
