MoHud Car Show Coming Up May 18!
Once more we have been invited to participate in the annual car show at the Saratoga
Auto Museum. This year it will be on Sunday May 18. As in the past, we will have the position of honor on the front
lawn of the museum. This is about the 5th year we have done this and it is always a great time. There is a big
crowd to see our cars and lots of other cars in the show for us to enjoy. It has always been a great way to start
off the summer car season. Tom Campbell will be coordinating our participation. Please let him know soon if you
would like to put your car in the show. In any case, plan to stop by during the day and see how things are going.

LRP Repaving - Race Canceled
Sat, Feb. 23, 2008
Lime Rock Park will start moving earth on May 27th and about 7 days later workers will start paving. The plan is
to repave the existing track and add two more configurations. The timeline is weather dependent and rain could
change the schedule. The paving is expected to be completed during the first week in June and will need a three
two four week curing time.
The MoHud race scheduled for June 7th and the NER race scheduled for June 21st have both been
canceled. The track has offered us other dates including July 4th and August 23rd; however these are not good dates
because they conflict with other NARRC events. Come to the March 5th Meeting for more information.

Bill Green to Speak at Center Jan. 19
(for release Jan. 10, 2008)
WATKINS GLEN, NY - International
Motor Racing Research Center Historian Bill Green will kick off a year-long celebration
of the Center's 10th anniversary and the 60th anniversary of racing in Watkins Glen with a talk at the Center on
Saturday, Jan. 19.
Green's talk will be the first of 2008 in the Center's monthly talk series, Center Conversations. It will begin
at 1 p.m. and is free and open to all.
The Center is located at 610 S. Decatur St., Watkins Glen.
Green will speak about the early years of racing in Watkins Glen and how it all began.
Green has been a fan of Watkins Glen racing since the first race in 1948, when he was 8 years old. His collection
of race materials, now legendary, was started that day, too.
Green has written one book, “Watkins Glen, From Griswold to Gordon: Fifty Years of Competition at the Home of American
Road Racing,” with J.J. O’Malley. He consulted on two other books about Watkins Glen: “Watkins Glen, 1948-52, The
Definitive Illustrated History” by Philippe Defechereux and “The Glen, 50 Years of Road Racing Excellence.”
He has been Watkins Glen track historian since 1968, Glen Region SCCA historian since 1974 and Race Communications
Association historian since 1998. From 1984-95, Green was deputy archivist for the SCCA.
Green has been Center historian since 2004.
Center Conversations is a free monthly talk series that takes listeners behind the scenes of motorsports. The talks
are informal, and everyone is invited.

MoHud
Regional Road Racing Championship
It is that time of year again; we will be presenting T-shirts to every driver who enters. In case
you did not know, the deal has always been that if we made money on the race, we would spend money on the championship.
I assume you know that the race in 2007 was a financial disaster, but I have obtained sponsorship for the T-shirts.
Come to the banquet and find out who our sponsors are and thank them.
The rules are: you can count any 5 races; they can be Nationals, Regionals, Pro or Enduros. If you were in an Enduro
you must have actually driven in the race. The MoHud race is a double point’s race, and this year it was a double
regional, so if you ran both races you can count them both as a double if you worked the MoHud race you may choose
another race(s) to count double.
Points are awarded for each race as follows: 1st 20, 2nd 15, 3rd 12, 4th 10, 5th 8, 6th 6, 7th 4, 8th 2, and 9th
and higher 1pt. In addition you get one point for every other car in your class that you beat. The other cars must
start i.e. you can count a DNF but not a DNS.
Your best 5 races should be totaled. Remember you can win one race and finish 2nd in another but the 2nd place
race could have more points if it was a larger field. The races must have been run in 2007 and you have until November
28th to submit your points. Send your points to me at JackHanifan@hotmail.com
