| Worker of the Event |
| |
At the John Stim Memorial NESCCA Nationals held June 10th & 11th at Lime Rock Park, Bruce Kosakoski
of the conducting Mohawk-Hudson Region of the SCCA was selected by the Stewards of the Meeting as the "Worker
of the Event."
Bruce and his crew had numerous responsibilities at the event. Putting out and collecting all the equipment each
day, worker transport, delivering registration information to T&S to name just a few. However, in the 90+ degree
heat which blanketed the track for these two days, it was Bruce's continual and constant delivery of iced water
& soft drinks to all worker specialty areas, the grid, pit lane and impound, which distinguished him above
the rest of the NorthEast Division workers at the event.
Despite the oppressive heat, Bruce kept not only his own "cool," he ensured that workers and drivers
alike were able to keep their cool all weekend long.
At each NESCCA National race event, the Stewards of the Meeting are charged with selecting a "Worker of the
Event" -- someone whose efforts were above and beyond the call of duty. The SoM had several nominations to
consider, but Bruce was deemed to have met the criteria most clearly. The announcement and the presentation were
made at the worker social gathering at the conclusion of the event. And, in a touch of irony on this weekend of
high heat, Bruce's "Worker of the Event" award is a red NESCCA winter jacket.
