John Stim Memorial National Race

and

Harold Cameron Spec Miata Challenge

Attached are the results of the John Stim Memorial National Race event and the Harold Cameron Spec Miata Challenge, presented by the Mohawk Hudson Region SCCA, Inc.  This event was held on the 1.53 mile road course at Lime Rock Park June 10-11, 2005 in Lime Rock, CT.  The national races were run under sanction #05-N-47-S, and the Spec Miata race was run under sanction #05-RS-243-S.

The event was named after two Mohawk Hudson Region members.  John Stim, who passed away in 1988, was a Road Racer, Soloist, TSD and Pro Rallyist, Solo event Chairman, Race Chairman, and held several offices including Regional Executive.  Harold Cameron, an HP racer and active participant in ice racing, served as Chief Steward many years for this event before his death in 2003.

Qualifying positions for Saturday’s national races were determined by the best time set in Friday’s two 20 minute qualifying sessions.  Starting positions for Saturday’s Spec Miata race were set by a 35 minute qualifying session held at the end of the day on Friday.   There were 191 cars on course for the national competition, divided into 7 groups.  26 cars were on course for the Spec Miata Challenge.   Both days were hot, humid and hazy, with all races run on a dry track.

The AMB transponder system was used for timing the qualifying sessions, and scoring for the races was accomplished with three independent lapcharts, two manual and one electronic.  There were 16 workers in Timing & Scoring representing the Florida, Glen, Mohawk Hudson, New England, New York, and Northern New Jersey SCCA regions.  Senior members were Carol Introne, Timing Captain, Roberta Flowers, Scoring Captain, Nancy Huber, Distribution, and Marie Sheehe, Results.
