SPRING FEVER RALLY RESULTS - Jim Bishop

On Saturday, April 24th, spring was definitely upon us. It was a sunny and delightful afternoon, but a small contingent pulled themselves away from chores or other entertainment [or just lazing about] to find their way to Malt River Brewpub in Latham. Small is a key term, due to insufficient time to do good publicity, a competing event at RPI, etc. We had eight cars enter.

Participants were entertained for three-plus hours by some of Albany and Saratoga County’s scenic roads and some basic TSD problems, but no “traps” of the nature that would give lots of penalty points for a moment of error or complexity that causes headaches. Unfortunately, an editing error by the rallymaster resulted in far too many people seeing too many unexpected roads, seriously detracting from their enjoyment of the event. To their credit, all returned to the finish. The first leg of the rally was thrown out for scoring purposes, but that doesn’t help those affected. The rallymaster sincerely apologizes to all. Perhaps for our next event, we will give all mileages [or road names/numbers] again.

The team of Landau/Landau seems to be making a habit of winning. And again, it seems like maybe we should have a special trophy for the family with the most participants - thanks Harry! Thanks go to Eric [and several others I didn’t keep track of] for their help in putting on the event. Here are the scores.
