Why should I join, I don’t race?
Well what are you waiting for? There’s no better time to start! And it’s not necessary to be “into” competition as a driver to be a part of the club. Many of our members don’t compete, and most don’t own “race cars,” but they enjoy the excitement, camaraderie, and sense of accomplishment they get by participating in events as workers, flaggers, timers, registrars, rally check point officials or in some other capacity. Good company and good times are the rule.
Why should I join, I don’t own a sports car?
Well, neither do most of our members! Only a desire to be involved in the sport is required. And many of our Solo (AutoCross), RoadRally, and PDX participants use their daily drivers. As long as your car is road-worthy, we have a program for you.
Can my family join too?
Sure. There are levels of membership available for individuals and families. Discounts are offered for those in the military and those age 24 and younger. And SCCA’s member referral program rewards you at renewal time for referring new members. Scroll down for more information.
I’m sold, what do I do now?

NEW AND JOINING? KNOW A MEMBER? SCCA’s member referral program will take $15 off your first year’s membership dues ($20 off family membership) and reward the referring member with a $5 discount come their renewal time. We are happy to provide you with a referral – use the staff directory and email one of us as we get a discount when renewing, too. Just make sure that you find out your friend’s SCCA membership number, and note it in the appropriate space when you go to join. To qualify, you must not have been a SCCA member within the past 18 months.
Effective January 1, 2008, all competitors are required to be a SCCA member (includes Individual, Spouse, Family, First Gear, Lifetime and Military) or a Weekend Member. Solo participants who are weekend members pay an additional $15 for that weekend on top of the regular day’s entry fee. This provides SCCA weekend membership for five consecutive days. The additional $15 fee insures you for up to One Million Dollars ($1,000,000.00) for medical expenses in the event of an accidental injury (just like regular members), and you will receive one issue of SportsCar Magazine.
If you decide to join the SCCA as a regular member and do so within 60 days of participation as a weekend member, the application form becomes a $15 discount coupon that can be applied toward your first year’s SCCA membership dues. If you participate as a weekend member twice within a 60 day period, you can combine two $15 discount coupons and apply the $30 discount toward your membership dues.
